Our firm

Two decades of immigration advocacy from Silicon Valley.

Founded in Newark, California. Practising before USCIS, the consulates, the immigration courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Who we serve

Individuals, families, employers, investors.

Silicon Valley is built by people who came from somewhere else. Shah Peerally Law Group exists to make that possible lawfully, predictably and without the sense that your future depends on a form you do not understand.

We represent engineers and physicians and the companies that sponsor them; families separated by processing queues; asylum seekers with claims that need to be documented properly the first time; and founders structuring businesses that must satisfy both a state regulator and a consular officer. The work spans routine filings and contested litigation, and we treat both with the same preparation.

Consultations are available in English, French, Hindi, Urdu and Creole. Not as a marketing line, but because a client explaining a persecution claim or a family history should be able to do it in their own language.

Candour first
You are told what your case is worth pursuing and what it is not, in the first conversation. A retainer we should not take is a retainer we decline.
Prepared past the minimum
Filings are built to the standard an adjudicator applies, not the checklist the form implies. That is why our requests for evidence are rare and our responses are short.
One team, one file
Immigration matters rarely stay in one category. You are not handed between departments when your case moves from a visa to a green card to citizenship.
Reachable
Clients hear from us before they have to ask. Where a case has a hard deadline, that deadline is tracked on our side, not yours.

Lead counsel

Shah Peerally, Esq.

Shah Peerally founded Shah Peerally Law Group to practise immigration law the way he believed it should be practised: with the technical rigour the filings demand and the plain-spoken candour clients deserve. Two decades later the firm serves individuals, families, employers and investors across the country from its Newark, California headquarters.

He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, holds Avvo's highest “Superb” 10.0 rating, and has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star, one of the Young Outstanding Lawyers of Northern California, and among San Francisco Magazine's top Northern California immigration attorneys in consecutive years.

His analysis has appeared in the San Jose Mercury News and Immigration Law Weekly, and he has served as a legal commentator on international networks including NDTV and Times Now. He treats that work as an extension of the practice, because policy that goes unexplained is policy that gets misapplied.

How we work

No surprises, at any stage.

Immigration is stressful because it is opaque. Our process is built to remove the opacity: you always know where your case stands and what happens next.

  1. 01

    Consultation

A direct conversation about your situation and your objective. You leave knowing which categories you qualify for, what the realistic timeline looks like, and what it costs, before you commit to anything.

  2. 02

    Strategy

We identify the strongest filing route and the fallback routes behind it. Risks, inadmissibility issues and evidentiary gaps are surfaced now, while there is still time to address them.

  3. 03

    Preparation

Your file is assembled to the standard an adjudicator applies, not the minimum the form requires. You review everything before it is filed, and nothing is submitted you have not seen.

  4. 04

    Filing & advocacy

We file, track and respond. Requests for evidence, interviews and hearings are prepared for in advance, and you are told where your case stands without having to ask.

Client outcomes

In their words.

Consistently 5-star rated

Five stars are not enough. The team answered questions at odd hours and never once made us feel like a case number. Our approval came through exactly as they mapped it out.
